Exegesis

The purpose of this blog is my Web Presence assignment under Web Communication 101, this exegesis is to explain my choices for the creation of my web presence. Therefore, in this exegesis, I will highlight the choices that I have chosen for the theme, central node and three contributing nodes I use in this blog.

The aim of this Web Presence Creation is for us to develop an initial online presence for ourself. As a result, for web presence creation, I choose a theme with a topic-coffee house, which are something related to my greatest passion. For me, I can spend my whole day and just sit down enjoy relax in coffee house, it really help me release my tension. Coffee has its own special amazing thing to attract me. Other than that, I also love the atmosphere and environment of coffee house. I am curious about the story behind the coffee house as well as I will always take enjoyment in the art of coffee which is curious about how barista use coffee to make art work. 

Through this blog, I will share different type of coffee house as well as the story behind it. The target audience of my blog basically is coffee house lover, coffee lover, art lover and gourmand. I warmly welcome open to everyone who is interested too.

This blog is named 'Expressoul Your Life' because in categories of coffee, espresso mean on the spur of moment, we need drink it up before the roam disappears otherwise its smoothness will be loast and the taste will go sour as it cools. Just like in our life, we do not know what will happen in our future, what we can do is, live for today and make better tomorrow. As an old saying that goes, ''no pain no gain,'' we need to strive hard for our life to receive the best rewards. The beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, we must feel it with heart and soul.

The theme of this blog basically is like a dairy of story behind each coffee house. The theme used is Coffee Desk which is designed by T. block. The background colour is light brownish and white which are want to create a comfortable and leisure feeling for reader while reading the post. The layout for this blog is simple and nice. It is divided into two sections which are the left-hand section is for blog posts and the right-hand section is for widgets. The widgets used in the this blog are Youtube, Instagram, Facebook Badge, About Me,Followers, Recent Post, Recent Comment as well as Blog Archive. At the above of the header, there are also have three title bars which are 'Home', 'About' and 'Exegesis', whereby at the bottom, there is also have a RSS easy for reader to subscribe.The main purpose of all these additional widget is easier for reader to have a better view and more details on different contributing nodes of the blog.

Expressoul Your Life uses Blogger as its central node as it is easy, free services and user-friendly interface. First, blogspot platform is hosted by Google, therefore, it is reliable hosting as well as will cut down the risk of blog being hacked. Second, if compare with other blog platform, blogspot is allows more flexibility in the layout and widget management. Third, with blogger, we can earn money by dedicated monetise tab that allows to place AdSense ads on blog (Rowse, n.d.)

As for my Web 2.0 contributing nodes, Expressoul Your Life has chosen Facebook, Youtube as well as Instagram.

First and foremost,the first contributing node is Facebook. In categories of social networking sites, Facebook is the most popular social media platform for social interaction and networking. Therefore, by creating Facebook page, it is easy showcases the latest update of post to audience and followers. Apart from that, in order to increase publicity of the blog, the features of 'like' and 'share' of Facebook page give a lot of opportunities to promote the blog as well.  In short, this is the best tools as online communication between users and audience.  

The second contributing node is YouTube, Web 2.0 platform allow users watch videos and collect videos from the Web, and we can store them as well. Thus, Expressoul Your Life had created a YouTube account to post and uploads video that related to blog posts topic. As asserted by Joan-Issac Biel, YouTube is one of the best examples of this explosion of online user-generated content (Biel, 2009). Thus, YouTube play a role as a main online ‘folder’ to keep all the video of my web presence and it is easy to obtain subscribers too.

The last contributing node for is Instagram. For the reason that, Instagram is a platform that allows users to upload photo. It is fun and simple as pictures can be post freely whenever and wherever possible as long as has internet. In addition, because of the functions of 'hashtags', it makes users can interact with more people from different countries as long as using the same hashtags of posts (Editorial,2012). For instances,  by tagging photo with some related key words, it brings users easy exchange ideas and discussion on similar topic. Instagram play a role as web photo management and sharing photo application of blog. Last but not least, Instagram also have function that can link to Facebook, so when I upload photo that related to my blog post to Instagram, it will automatic upload and link to page Facebook page as well. 

In a nutshell, this web presence has achieved all the element of Web 2.0 tools. It may be added that, by using a central node with contributing nodes, it shown perfectly how this blog utilised from social networking to user participation. As a conclusion, Web 2.0 platforms are changing the way of people in communication and collaboration. Maybe in the future, This World Wide Web platform will transforming the entire society.
